Mission:
To promote a better understanding and appreciation for Shakespeare in Naples and Marco Island, Florida.
Vision:
To plant roots of appreciation for Shakespeare into our unique cultural climate through Outreach Programs in partnership with our local schools supporting the performance of plays deemed to be classics with a special emphasis on commitment to Shakespeare's text.
Looking Forward:
We are excited to be working with the Marco Island Academy located in Marco Island, Florida to bring a unique form of teaching Shakespeare to these high achieving high school students. We look forward to the interdisciplinary collaboration between the English departments and the newly developing theatre program at Marco Island Academy. Students will be studying and reading the plays in the classroom as well as in rehearsal spaces and on stage. The Marco Island Shakespeare Festival will truly be a community effort and we are exited and looking forward to sharing Shakespeare's timeless text - Island Style.
